Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be referred by a Consultant or my GP?

No- Just ring for an appointment. It's that simple!

What if I'm not sure if Physiotherapy can help me?

Please feel free to pick up the phone and call me to discuss your condition and how suitable it is for physiotherapy treatment.

There is no obligation to book an appointment.

Can I bring a friend or relative with me to my appointment?

Of course you are welcome to bring someone with you. (This is a legal and professional requirement for the under 16)

How many sessions will I need?

This will vary according to your problem, how long you've had it and to some extent your age. I will be able to give you an indication after the initial examination and assessment.

What should I wear?

Loose fitting and stretchy clothing is ideal but many people come from work so I work around it with no problem. Shorts are helpful for patients with lower limb or back problems and a strappy vest top for upper limb or neck problems. Patients with long hair could bring a hair band if they have a neck condition. Just be aware you will be required to partially undress especially for the initial examination, but that I will always respect your beliefs and dignity.

What if I miss my appointment?

If you give 24 hours' notice that you will not be able to attend your appointment you will NOT be charged and another more convenient appointment will be arranged. However, if you fail to attend and you do not inform me then you MAY still be charged in full for the lost appointment time. I make every effort to ensure your appointments Are as convenient as possible for you.

Are you registered?

Yes! I am registered with the Health Care Professionals' Council,( HcPc) and a member of the Chartered Society Of Physiotherapists (CSP). This ensures that standards of care are maintained at the highest level and that I keep up to date with my training.

I am also a member of PhysioFirst - The Private Practioners Professional Association.

How do I pay?

I take cash, card or cheque at the time of every treatment.
