A bit about me

A portrait of Anna Simons

My name is Anna Simons. I trained in the late 1980s at the famous Guy’s Hospital in London and qualified with a graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy in 1990. With 20 years’ clinical experience in the NHS I have worked in a variety of settings, from large London teaching hospitals to small community clinics and GP surgeries’.

I moved to Shropshire in the mid-1990s with my young family, (I have four Children) and kept working part-time at Market Drayton GP primary health Care Centre. In 2009 I set up my private practice which enabled me to continue working in the profession I love whilst juggling the demands of a young family. Working privately has also meant I can see my patients in my way.

What I do

I am a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. This means I am a” hands on” health care professional who uses a range of treatment techniques to restore normal movement and function to the body. I treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions that impair normal function by causing pain, stiffness and weakness by;

  • Reducing Pain
  • Mobilizing stiff joints
  • Strengthening weak muscles.
  • Re-educating Poor Balance.
  • Restoring lost Confidence and Reassuring Anxieties
  • Correcting Poor posture.
  • Educating and explaining to my patients about how their bodies responds to injury and how best to help it recover

Location

The clinic is located at my home in Newport on the Deer Park Estate and is a professional clinical space in which I can work with my patients in a private, clean and clinical environment to resolve their problems. I will of course give all patients clear directions when they make an Appointment.

Why Me?

I offer a professional personal and prompt service. Patients see ME and ONLY ME! Ensuring continuity of care and at a time convenient for them. I am able to offer flexible appointment times including some evenings, making appointments after work a possibility. I have a wealth of experience and for a small single handed practice offer up to date electrotherapy and manual therapy techniques. I am a member of the CSP, (the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) and am of course HCPC registered. i am also a member of the private physiotherapy organisation, Physio First.
